Safety

The safety of our passengers is of the utmost importance to us at Coach Options. This is one of the reasons why we run a very modern fleet of vehicles with many safety features. We also track our vehicles for that extra piece of mind.

MAINTENANCE
At Coach Options we pride ourselves on the safety of our vehicles. All of our vehicles are maintained in-house to the highest possible standard. Each vehicle has a 6 weekly inspection, which ensures that all general safety features are always checked and maintained. Each year every vehicle has its annual MOT, which is carried out by the DVSA to ensure that our vehicles are up to standard.

BEING ‘GREEN’
The DVSA (Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency) uses an OCRS (Operator Compliance Risk Score) to work out the risk of operators not following the rules on roadworthiness (the condition of its vehicles) and traffic, eg drivers’ hours, weighing checks etc. The DVSA uses a traffic light system to place operators into bands – Green, Amber or Red. We at Options have been placed in the Green band, which is the best band to be in and this means that we are classed as a low risk operator. Remember that you are entitled to ask every operator what band they are in to ensure that you are booking with a safe and reputable company.

VEHICLES
In order to maintain the highest standards, we are continually investing in our vehicles by updating our fleet. All of our vehicles are satellite tracked, which enables us to track where our vehicles are, control driving performance and minimise inefficiencies, while also offering peace of mind.

We all dream of a cleaner, greener environment for our children to grow up in. Here at Coach Options we are committed to reducing our carbon footprint, in order to preserve the environment. We invest thousands to ensure that our vehicles are among the most environmentally friendly in the industry. This means that we are compliant with Euro 5 and 6, which is the latest diesel engine emission legislation being driven by the European Commission.

DRIVERS
Our drivers have all completed their CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence) training and have enhanced DBS checks. Our satellite tracking system constantly monitors the driving skills of our drivers to ensure that our quality vehicles are driven safely and economically.

Should an accident occur, our drivers are trained in how to handle an emergency situation and they are all informed of the evacuation procedures that should be followed on the motorway. In addition, our drivers know that information/pictures should not be put on any social media and that they should not talk to the media/press regarding the accident.
